FAQ
We will keep this updated with information as often as we can, to help answer the most common questions that you may have about the show.
What does Born Again Casual mean?
Born Again Casual was an inside joke between Phil and Steve. CliffsNotes: After Steve’s 2nd Xbox360 died, he went out and bought WiiFit for his family in lieu of getting the Xbox repaired. Phil made a comment that he was ‘Born Again Casual’ and the name just kind of stuck. We are not a podcast focused on ‘Casual’ games, nor are we a religious podcast by any means. Hope that clears things up.
What is your intro theme song?
The theme song to Born Again Casual is ‘Blast Off’ by Virt from his FX2 Album. Virt was generous enough to let us use his song and we’d appreciate it if you’d head over to his website (http://www.biglionmusic.com/) and show him some support. He’s an amazing artist, and if you’re a fan of Chiptune music you’ll love his work.
When do you record, when is the show released?
Born Again Casual broadcasts live on Tuesday nights at 9:00 PM EST. The show is usually edited and uploaded to our site within 24 hours of the broadcast. Please subscribe on our iTunes Store page to make sure you always get the latest episode.
How do I take part in the live video feed and chat room?
Born Again Casual places a heavy emphasis on interacting with our live audience. The URL for the live show can be found here. An embedded version of the live feed will show up just prior to show time on the Shamoozal Nerdlog.
Watcha Been Playin?
No disrespect to the gentlemen at 1up Yours, we’re long-time fans of the show… but this is a question we shy away from on Born Again Casual. It seems that with the success of 1up Yours / ListenUp, a thousand podcast-clones have popped up where the hosts feel the need to ramble on about whatever they played in the 6 days prior to recording their podcast. We’re trying to keep the show short and to-the-point, so you’ll rarely hear any such segment on this program.
How do you record podcast?
Phil and Steve use Skype to do the show and record it directly into AudioHijack Pro. After the show is recorded it is edited using Audacity. For the video portion of the show, we use CamTwist to combine the two separate video feeds and broadcast through Ustream.
